Error Message: Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.TemplateLogEntries '.PK_TemplateLogEntries' in database 'QAS' becuase the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup.
Symptoms: When doing uploads with Data Workbench and you recieve a message similar to above regarding the database being full.
Cause: This is a known problem in Versions of Data Workbench prior to 9.7. This error is caused by the 4096MB limit on database size in SQL Server 2005 Express. When the limit has been reached, no more data can be entered into the database.
Resolution: In Data Workbench version 9.7, there have been many changes that optimize the storage of data so that the maximum size should never be reached under normal usage. An interim solution would be to shrink the database using the script below. However, this is not a permanent solution and will most likely occur again.
To shrink the QUADRATE database, please follow the instructions from Microsoft, found here.
