When you first start Data Workbench and you receive a "First Time License Synchronization Failed" error, like in Figure 1, it is usually because you are connecting through a proxy server.

To solve this you will need to run the Configuration and Diagnostic Utility. Once the Diagnostic Utility starts click the Configuration Tab and select the Configure QAS Proxy button. Enter your proxy details and click the OK button. Now select the Diagnostics tab and click the Sychronize button. After the synchronization is finished select the Run Full Diagnostics Test. All the tests should now pass.
